This week, we learned about the jungle. We talked about the different layers of the jungle and what kind of animals lived in each part, then we played a math game where the kids each grabbed a handful of monkeys and then we counted and compared how many monkeys each one grabbed. We made jungle animal masks, painted our snakes, and made monkey bread.
On wednesday, we finished our snakes, made binoculars and maps and went on a "jungle safari". We found different animals and talked about them and then we played some jungle games. I made a rattlesnake out of a sock and we played "snakebite" a game where they passed the snake around and when the music stopped, whoever was holding it got "bit" (they were out). They were hilarious....pretty much throwing the snake around the circle trying not to get bit! Then we played jungle animal charades...which they really got into, and a tiger and monkey game...it was a lot of fun!
